WomanSpirit Center is a gathering place which nurtures women’s spirituality and transformational development. It is a place to be and a place to become. A Signature Program emerged over our 10 year history ~ The Women in Transition Program.
Because of this program, we've had the opportunity to walk with many women during their transformative experiences. Some of the groups have been small and some have been large. Whatever the size, women gathered together to move forward in their next steps in the transition process.
WomanSpirit Center provides a space to find both solitude and companionship during this program. We find these two elements to be critical to anyone who is undergoing transformation.
A holy man returned from time in the desert.
His followers queried: "What did you learn?"
His answer: "Nothing. I was alone."
Conversely, when we are constantly surrounded by others, it is extremely difficult to search into our depths to find the treasures dotting our landscape or to find those things which hold us back from true transformation.
Finding a balance between the solitude and companionship is very important in this process of development.
Receiving feedback from others helps us to round some of the sharp edges we develop as we encounter life's challenges. WomanSpirit offers an opportunity to receive this information in a controlled environment. Not controlled to the extent that creativity and energy are stifled, but rather channeled. Respectful feedback is a very important! Through this process, each one receives pertinent information which assists in making decisions about the future journey in light of their current situation.
WomanSpirit offers a setting which allows you to explore, ponder, learn and experience to find hope and to create a future. |

Endings are the beginning in the process of transition. Some endings are chosen while others are thrust upon us. Women in transition are at a pregnant moment of their lives. Our two-week and month long programs are intended to assist you in the process of intentionally finding a new voice, seeing with new eyes and moving forward with greater clarity. |
| |
|
We find in any transition it is not just a step from the old to the new, but it includes an in-between time ~ a drastic shakeup of what has been. This period of time can bring much pain, disenchantment and discouragement but it is also a time of great opportunity.
Change in life is essential to growth and even to survival. The emerging situation involves letting go of the familiar and the hopes, fears, dreams and beliefs attached to a past situation. Bending into the transition has quite a different effect in our lives than being dragged through it without conscious reflection and without adequate tools for the journey. |
|
Your path is made by walking. You have the option to choose that path or have others choose it for you. Choose for yourself. Give yourself that gift. Create your path with the help of professionals at WomanSpirit Center. Ease your way through transition and learn ways to move forward. |

Our month-long Women in Transition Program is designed to give women who are in a time of transition the occasion to go deeper into their emerging identity, explore the values which need to be honored and attend to the hopes and dreams calling for realization. It provides opportunities for healing and reclaiming what may be been destroyed, buried or never allowed to surface. You will reflect on where you are in life and visit the invitations, challenges and possibilities which make the difference between moving across the bridge of transition or remaining in a hopeless bog.
The Two-Week Women in Transition Program focus and content is similar to the month-long Program. Care is taken to provide the same excellent quality and the possibility for personal reflection. Time will demand, however, a more intensified approach. This program is a response to requests of those who are not able to allow or afford an entire month for their exploration.
Recent program participants write:
The month was very good for me because I found a loving, welcoming community with a common interest and many resources for reflecting on transition. The balance of work and play was a wonderful model for life. I am very Grateful! LR 2004
I found the Women in Transition Program to be tremendously enriching. It is actually difficult to say what was most helpful. Perhaps it was the overall dynamic of the interplay between:
solid and stimulating input - in the company of other searching women - with ample personal time for reflection.
Also the sensitive, attentive presence and interaction with us was a true blessing, and my sense is that WomanSpirit Center is wonderful at adapting according to the needs of the individual participants. RMB 2005
First of all, the entire experience exceed by expectations from any perspective. I realized by goal of beginning to explore my questions. I gave myself over to the process and I was vastly rewarded. Thank you! ES 2005
While the two-week journey was very intense, there was never any hint of stress, hurry, insufficient time or breezing through things. There was always time to pause, ponder, contemplate and digest the materials. We were extended an invitation to “see what was present for us!” WomanSpirit Center is a place of safety, a place to learn and to look at any barriers one might have that interferes with who one can be. BF 2006
I came to this experience not really knowing what to expect - which is how it should be; in a growing adventure, no one wants a canned experience. I did see the brochure. Staff talked to me and ensured me that this would be a productive step for me. They were absolutely correct. I was seeking a transformative experience of renewal. This is precisely what the two-week adventure was for me.
It was awe-inspiring, deeply spiritual and profoundly life changing. I got the chance to look at my life from the inside our. This was not therapy; none of the activities even resembled therapy. The adventure was about going deeper into the well of one's own knowing to uncover the rich wisdom that is uniquely one's own. Thank you WomanSpirit Center! TC 2007

WomanSpirit, ‘A place to be, a place to become’ dramatically changed my approach in finding the path to my future direction. I came to the Women in Transition Program with the hope of finding out what I could do, but instead, I found out who I could become. I wanted closure, but I found openness.
Each of the workshops were stepping stones in helping me reach deeper and deeper into my inner spirit, discerning the energy, wisdom and strength I hold within my being. I learned to listen and dialogue with both my body and soul and found they told me more in a month than I knew or had heard in a lifetime. My journey at WomanSpirit Center was transforming and sacred.
Being at here provided both the time and sacred space I needed. It freed me from the busyness of life and the worries of the world, allowing time to be with myself and God. It was a time of befriending myself - something I had never been able to do. It was a grace-filled journey. It was also a time of letting go of what has been with an invitation and openness to what can be. It was a time of letting go of that which was lifeless then filling that emptiness with all that is life-giving and empowering me to go out and give life. For me, it was a pregnant time and I went through both the pain and joy of giving birth. CS 2007
I was stuck. I couldn’t move on and it didn’t seem like I had any options. Nothing seemed to give me life. I was stagnant and couldn’t get in touch with who I am as a person. Now, after working with WomanSpirit Center in the Transition Program, I feel alive and ready to continue my life’s journey with enthusiasm. I have been given many excellent tools to take with me as I continue on my journey. RB 2006
The Women in Transition Program fed my soul and was a balm for my spirit. I can’t think of what more you could have done to make us feel welcome. CC 2006
For me, the opportunities for creative expression at WomanSpirit Center were the key to discovering what was a major theme in my life and how it affected the decision with which I was faced. Whether it was art or music, workshops, journal writing, or yoga, I found myself uncovering new insights everyday. My decision became clear quickly and almost unexpectedly, and I still had more time to think about and begin to map the path I was about to travel. I left with a deep sense of peace and calm, two feelings that eluded me for years, plus the confidence to take on the next chapter of my life. RD 2005 |
